Our vision at Waverly Central High School and the Humphreys County Vocational Center is to support and encourage all students to seize every opportunity available to them in order to prepare for their lives beyond high school. The administration and staff are both qualified and willing to assist students in their efforts to develop their gifts and potentials. Our hope is to motivate students so that they will mature into confident, contributing citizens with strong moral character.

Our Beliefs

The staff at Waverly Central High School and the Humphreys County Vocational Center believes:

  • Education is the responsibility of families first and the community as well as the school.

  • Regular attendance is critical for successful student achievement.

  • Students should be encouraged to have high expectations and to achieve.

  • Students will have the opportunity to develop or enhance workplace skills.

  • Active involvement in the total school program promotes student achievement.

  • Students need recognition, enjoyment, and success.

  • A qualified, motivated, and caring staff is essential for successful student learning.

  • Schools must have adequate resources and a safe environment to educate students.

Extra Curricular Activities

Students attending related school activities such as school athletic events, dances, etc. are subject to all rules and state laws pertaining to the use of Alcohol, tobacco and other harmful drugs. Students should be prepared to leave school premises immediately after the conclusion of each dance or event. Failure to have a ride arranged after any extra curricular event may result in loss of attendance privileges for such activities. Violation of any rules will result in disciplinary action.
